Founded in 1976 by Geoff Herbert, a traditionally trained plumber, Lead Work Contracts LTD was acknowledged for its reliability, quality of tradesmen and value. This recognition saw the company developed rapidly in size and reputation.

Ben Herbert, son of Geoff, later joined the company as an apprentice who qualified through the Lead Delegated Assessment Ltd and received a Gold level, under the Roofing Industry Alliance and is now a co-director.

The company is a proudly run family business, with Geoff’s wife Jennavie overseeing the administrative role within the company, whilst Ben, Geoff and Tom (Third Generation) work on site.

The final member of the team is Peter, who is a knowledgeable and trusted, highly experienced sheet lead specialist, and has been with the firm for 20 years.

Lead Work Contracts Ltd is a co-founder of the LEAD CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (LCA), a body which maintains the high levels of craftsmanship within the industry, via a vetting system. Having recently undergone this process we are delighted to have received an “excellent” grade for our craftsmanship.

Our work is strictly conducted in accordance with the high standards set out by the code of practice (BS6915) and the recommendations specified by the LEAD SHEET ASSOCIATION.

Our company continues to deliver high standards of craftsmanship on both large (£150,000.00) and smaller (£200.00) contracts within the private and commercial sectors, with a significant number of contracts being of important architectural interest. Our commercial clients include the BBC, NHBC and Sotheby’s and continue to maintain a professional working relationship with them.

We are proud of our ability to cover contracts within London and the Southeast. We can offer a guarantee, administered by the LCA and insurance supported through Lloyd’s of London on contracts exceeding the value of £2,500.
